0Brgy. Masagana was founded in 1950 by Teotimo Pantoja and was formerly named San Luis. In 1966, the name was changed to Sta. Filomena and then to the present name, Masagana, meaning plentiful or bountiful. It was created in 1966 by a resolution from the Municipal Council under Resolution No. 24 series of 1966.
