Melgar and the 366 Steps

One of the wonderful things that the island of Mindoro has is its famous beaches.

Together with my co-missionaries, we have discussed in one of our meetings our plan to spend an activity on Preparation Day in Melgar Beach. The beach is located in the town of Naujan about few miles away from Baco where I stayed.

Me and my companion woke up so early. We rode on a jeepney going to Barangay Singko. After that, we rode on a jeepney again to go in Naujan. In the town of Naujan, we met our co-missionaries. We rode on the truck of the Zone Leaders and we took the road going to Melgar Beach.

After an hour of traveled, we arrived in Melgar Beach. But before we went in the exact place where we’re going to held our activity, an hill caught our eyes. It has lots of cottages in top and high stairs caught up our attention. “That’s the 366 steps!” One of the branch missionaries said.

Then, our Zone Leaders decided to go there and to spend some of the time of our activity. We all agreed. We paid Php 10.00 for the entrance fee. After that, we started to step going upward in the top of the hill in the stairs. We counted every steps that our feet made.

When we finally came in the top of the hill and finished climbing the stairs, we counted 366 steps exactly as what our branch missionary said. We enjoyed taking pictures in the top. We appreciated the beauty of cottages. We saw the whole area of Melgar Beach from the top too. After that, we finally decided to go in the beach.

We rented small cottages in the Melgar Beach. We enjoyed the barbecue. We took pictures too in the beach. We enjoyed walking, playing, and running along its seashore. We saw small creatures too in it.

When we decided to leave the beach, we were all happy. All of us were have a good time. I saw that from the faces of my co-missionaries.
